Asus UX21 and UX31 ultrabook

The Taiwanese manufacturer has updated its proposal in the field of ultra-thin, with the introduction of two new Asus UX21 and UX31 models, which go directly to defy solutions such as Apple MacBook Air on the same field. The chassis is made entirely of aluminum, anodized satin finish that gives it just a very nice appearance, but also a good grip. Moreover, thanks to its unibody structure type, the case is exceptionally hard, compact and lightweight.

Like many competitors, even though ASUS has had to do without a removable battery to propose a one-piece shell. Even the beautiful style keyboard chiclet is made of the same material and thus contributes to increase the feeling of exclusivity ultrabook transmitted by the new, with thicknesses ranging from 17 mm to 3 mm only. The huge multi-touch touchpad instead has a glass surface. Despite the extremely low thickness, however, Asus has managed to integrate the sides of these new portable USB 2.0 port, a new standard in 3.0, micro-HDMI digital video output and a Mini DisplayPort.

During Computex 2011, Asus has also announced the entire hardware equipment, so we know that both models will be equipped with Intel Huron River, ie Sandy Bridge chips HM65 and dual-core processor, new generation and energy. The CPU can be selected among the models i5-2557M 1.7-GHz or Core i7. For the latter, however, we do not know if it will be chosen by the Core i7-2637M 1.7/2.8 GHz or Core i7-2677M from 1.8/2.9 GHz

The RAM type DDR3 1333 MHz is 2 GB, expandable to 4 GB, however, while graphics system should be used as the IGP Intel GMA 3000 integrated into the processor. For storage there instead of an SSD with SATA III 6 Gbps, with a capacity of 64, 128 or 256 GB. With the adoption of SSDs and the presence of a particular proprietary software, Asus also ensures they can provide a resume of the operating system Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit from sleep about 2 seconds.
