Intel has officially launched the new platform, low-voltage Intel Oak Trail for tablets, smartphones, netbooks and other ultra-mobile devices, promising more than 35 device with an Intel Atom Z670 later this year. As our colleague suggests to Liliputing, the goods described on the page dedicated to Intel Oak Trail is also Asus Eee Pad Slider, one of the three tablet Asus Android-based and launched at CES 2011 in January.
The device has a sliding keyboard that slides under the display. IPS 10.1-inch screen has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, while the operating system preinstalled is Google Android 3.0 e. According to the plans of Asus Eee Pad Slider should have included a dual core processor Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz, but as we were informed during the Milan Design Week, the tablet would have arrived in Italy in September with a platform “slightly different” from the initial one.
Summing up these rumors, we can expect the first generation Eee Pad Slider can be marketed in May with two Nvidia Tegra (but not in Italy), only to be replaced in September by a second generation that will benefit Oak Trail Intel platform with an Intel Atom Z670 .
