Notebook APU AMD Trinity

Fusion since the project was born some years ago, you could say that Trinity is the APU most anticipated, even before knowing their existence. The users and the market are not only impressed by the new functions and the newfound competitiveness, thanks to an efficient integrated graphics subsystem, but above all the power and performance of the new APU. A few days after the demo of used, we had the opportunity to test at IFA 2011, the demo is coming APU for notebooks, code-named Trinity AMD.

Bulldozers and Trinity are based processor core and two versions of the same respectively for desktops and laptops to high end. Trinity is still relatively little known, except that the APU will be from 2 to 4 cores based on the architecture Piledriver, an optimized version of used and will benefit from the integration of a graphics processor AMD Radeon HD 7000, based on the new core that Northern Islands will replace the current Radeon HD 6000 family of products.

Trinity will then integrate the controller including DDR3, will be made ??with a 32 nm production process, will have a maximum TDP ranged from 17 to 60 W depending on the model and will be based on socket FM2. The TDP in particular might seem a bit ‘high, but remember that it would be that corresponding to the highest performing version, then with four cores and a graphics subsystem powerful. It is not the first time that AMD notebook shows a functional prototype, based on the new APU Trinity: During AMD Fusion Developer Summit held last June it was running a video, while this time is running Deus Ex: Human Revolution, one of the latest videogame titles available on the market and with DirectX11 graphics.
